snap·shot – a brief appraisal, summary, or profile.

Every Monday we hope to provide our readers with snapshots of films being released for the upcoming weekend. This will be a brief summary of films that will assist our readers in the area of discernment. Instead of searching other sites and reading lengthy articles, it’s our hope to provide a concise list of all the films of the weekend in one consolidated post. If you wonder why we don’t list the MPAA ratings, please click here.

Gangster Squad – The LAPD’s attempt to rid its city of the East Coast Mafia (even though the title is cheesy, it looks good).  Genre – crime, drama, action; content – strong violence, language and sexuality.

A Haunted House – A feeble attempt to piggy-back on another film’s creativity (which wasn’t that creative to begin with) and make it funny.  Genre – comedy; content – drug use, language, crude and sexual content.

Zero Dark Thirty – A story covering the decade-long hunt, and eventual death, of Osama bin Laden by C.I.A. and Navy S.E.A.L. team 6.  Genre – action, drama, history; content – strong violence, disturbing images, and language.
