snap·shot – a brief appraisal, summary, or profile.

Every Monday we hope to provide our readers with snapshots of films being released for the upcoming weekend. This will be a brief summary of films that will assist our readers in the area of discernment. Instead of searching other sites and reading lengthy articles, it’s our hope to provide a concise list of all the films of the weekend in one consolidated post. The Expendables 2 – [EXPLOSION] When one of their men is killed, [EXPLOSION] the Expendables reunite [EXPLOSION] to get revenge [EXPLOSION]. Genre – Uber-Action; content – strong bloody violence and explosions.

Sparkle – When fame befalls a female singing trio, it threatens to tear the family apart (basically the same plot as the above film).  Genre – drama; content – domestic and drug abuse, language, and violence.

ParaNorman – A boy fights against zombies, ghosts and adults to save his cursed town.  Genre – comedy, horror, animation; content – scary images, rude humor and language.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green – Some parents plant a box in the back yard, and a child comes out of the dirt.  Genre – comedy, drama, fantasy; content – mild language.
