snap·shot – a brief appraisal, summary, or profile.

Every Monday we hope to provide our readers with snapshots of films being released for the upcoming weekend. This will be a brief summary of films that will assist our readers in the area of discernment. Instead of searching other sites and reading lengthy articles, it’s our hope to provide a concise list of all the films of the weekend in one consolidated post. If you wonder why we don’t list the MPAA ratings, please click here.

The Amazing Spider-man – While searching for clues on the whereabouts of his parents, Peter Parker, runs into his father’s former partner, Dr. Curt Conners ‘The Lizard’. Genre – Action, adventure, drama; content – intense action and violence. (opens on Tuesday)

Savages – Two potheads face off against the Mexican drug cartel who kidnapped their shared girlfriend. Genre – action, thriller, drama; content – strong brutal grisly violence, graphic sexuality, nudity, and drug use.

Mac & Devin Go to High School – It’s rated R and Snoop Dogg is the lead character, so I’ll sum up the plot, content, and genre in one word ‘drugs’.

Katy Perry: Part of Me – A documentary about a girl we’ll forget about in five years. Genre – documentary; content – bad music and acting. (opens on Thursday)
