snap·shot – a brief appraisal, summary, or profile.

Every Monday we hope to provide our readers with snapshots of films being released for the upcoming weekend. This will be a brief summary of films that will assist our readers in the area of discernment. Instead of searching other sites and reading lengthy articles, it’s our hope to provide a concise list of all the films of the weekend in one consolidated post. If you wonder why we don’t list the MPAA ratings, please click here.

Prometheus – (Since Ridley Scott is directing a sci-fi, does it really matter what it’s about?) A team explores the darkest parts of the universe for clues concerning the beginning of mankind – shouldn’t they just read Genesis 1?. Genre – horror, action, sci-fi; content – disturbing and graphic images and language.

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted – On their way home to the Big Apple, four animals become part of a traveling circus. Genre – animation, family; content – some mild rude humor.

Lola Versus – When Lola’s idolatry of marriage is taken from her, she replaces that with other idols such as food, booze, and boys. Genre – comedy; content – language, sexuality, & drug use.

I bet that’s the twist ending of Prometheus John. It was all just a dream one of them had after falling asleep mid Genesis 1 sermon. Yet another reason why I don’t drop acid on Sundays.

Also congrats on the 30,000 mark.
