We’re rolling out the red carpet here at Reel Thinking to welcome author and screenwriter Brian Godawa.  Brian is the screenwriter of To End All Wars (2001), starring Robert Carlyle and Kiefer Sutherland.  He is also the author of Word Pictures: Knowing God Through Story and Imagination and Hollywood Worldviews: Watching Films With Wisdom and Discernment.

We’re truly honored to have him do a guest post at RT for many reasons.  His book, Hollywood Worldviews, played a major part in shaping my thinking about film.  It truly helped me to set up parameters in my heart and mind for better appreciating God’s gift of film.  As we hope to start holding give-aways at RT (to better show our appreciation to our readers) we plan to get his books into your hands.

Tomorrow Brian will be discussing one of the most talked about films of the year.  The Tree of Life is a film written and directed by the reclusive Terrence Malick and stars Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, & Jessica Chastain.  His film has gotten great reviews and is easily one of the most thought-provoking films in many years.  Please take a couple of minutes to watch the excellent trailer below.
